Steamed Apples

Ingredience:

3 apples – peeled, cored and sliced

  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon

Optional:

  • 1 Thumb Fresh Ginger
  • 5 whole Cloves
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 teaspoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Topping

  • 1 teaspoon chopped nuts

Directions:

  1. Pour water into a large skillet. Arrange apple slices in the skillet. Add Ground Cinnamon, Fresh Ginger, and optional ingredients to the skillet; stir to combine.
  2. Bring to a simmer, cover with a lid and reduce heat to low. Simmer, stirring from time to time, until apples have reached desired tenderness, 20 to 30 minutes.

Breakfast/Snack Dessert

Breakfast: Put on top of hot oatmeal, overnight soaked oats, chia pudding, with yogurt, or just enjoy plain.

Snack: Enjoy with Rice Crackers

Dessert: Serve warm with ice-cream for a really nice treat!
